Artist in Residence
Plants Under The Microscope
Erica Seccombe has been announced as the successful artist to join the centre as the artist in residence for 2010.
The innate beauty of the images produced in the facility and our desire to bring art and science together at a creative interface presents a unique artistic opportunity. A six week residency, funded by the ACT government, will be held at the HRPPC in October and November of 2010. The artist will be trained in the operations of the centre and in the use of the Multiview Stereovision, Infra-red Camera & Flourcam.
We place no limits on the way the artist may engage with the research and researchers of the centre. The imagery or artworks produced will be used as follows:
• We are building an interactive display in our Centre to open in early December, and digital copies of artworks produced will be used in this multi-media display.
• We are also developing a study guide for ACT schools in plant phenomics to be launched in early December and copies of artworks may be selected for inclusion in these educational materials.
• We also envisage hosting a small exhibition of resultant works from the artist to coincide with the launches of these two products.
