Dr Jeremy Burdon

Dr Jeremy Burdon has an international reputation as both a scientist (specialising in plant-pathogen epidemiology and evolution) and a research manager and strategic planner. He has broad interests across all plant-based agricultural industries developed throughout a career in CSIRO. He has served as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of the Grains Research & Development Corporation (2011-17), Cotton Research & Development Corporation (2017-2020) and Sugar Research Australia (2019-22). He is currently a Non-Executive Director of the Australian Pesticides & Veterinary Medicines Authority (2022-) and Plant Health Australia (2023-) and is Independent Chair of SRA’s Research Funding Panel (2022-).

In addition to election to the fellowship of Australia’s two leading science bodies (AAS; ATSE), Jeremy is a foreign fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Science, has published extensively, and has received numerous national and international science awards and recognition.
