The 21st International Conference on Nitrogen Fixation (ICNF 2019) will be held on October 10-15, 2019, on the campus of Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China. This conference has been ongoing for over 40 years and is a preeminent international forum for scientific discussion on nitrogen fixation. We very much hope you can join us for the 21st ICNF in 2019.

The four-day conference focuses on a broad range of issues and challenges in the field of mechanisms, regulation, and application of nitrogen fixation. Scientific programs include:

1, Chemistry and regulation of nitrogenase, and nitrogen fixation systems under global changes
2, Diversity, evolution, and genomics of nitrogen fixation in plants, and root nodule symbiosis
3, Diversity, evolution, and genomics of nitrogen fixation in bacteria, and root microbiomes
4, The legume-rhizobium interaction and legume nodule development
5, Legume symbiotic signal transduction and autoregulation of legume nodulation
6, Interaction of symbiosis with hormones and environments
7, Cyanobacteria and aquatic nitrogen fixation
8, Free-Living, endophytic and associative nitrogen fixation
9, Synthetic biology and application of nitrogen fixation
10, Novel technology in nitrogen fixation

We hope that, despite an intense conference program, you will be also able to get some glimpses of Wuhan. With a 3,500-year history, Wuhan is one of the most ancient (“Chu” culture) and civilized metropolitan cities in China. The Yangtze River passes through the city, giving Wuhan a spectacular night view of the skyscrapers by the riversides. Wuhan is located in the center of China and has direct flights to many countries and high-speed trains directly linking to most major cities in China.

Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) is a national key university of “Project 211” directly under the Ministry of Education and enjoys a history of 120 years. As one of the largest campuses in China, the HZAU campus is surrounded by lakes and hills, giving a beautiful, natural, and quiet place for staying and scientific gathering during the golden autumn.
