“From plant genome editing to breeding informatics – How to breed for future needs”… Breeding is still an art and a profit-driven business as well. Breeding is driven by research. New methods and technologies must be adapted. To breed for future needs we must improve via science and cooperation, by exploring our different areas of expertise and competences, to gain the ability to create something new. In our science this can be a new genotype or a new protected variety, which is preferred by the farmers. The only way to stay competitive is to collaborate with different competences involved in the breeding workflow. The aim of CBB4 conference is to bring these people together to publish their results, exchange ideas, share and explore the common knowledge of the community. We intend to bring our audience closer to Cereal Research Communications (CRC), our more than 40-year-old scientific journal, thus encouraging all to publish the latest results in cereal science.
