The Ninth International Symposium on Kiwifruit (KIWI-2017) will be held in Porto, Portugal, from 6 to 9 September 2017, under the aegis of the International Society for Horticultural Science.

Kiwifruit is an important grown crop all over the world. International trade in kiwifruit includes Actinidia deliciosa, A. chinensis and more recently A. arguta. The increase in new cultivars represents a challenge for scientists and producers as they search for the best fruit types for producers and markets over the world. The symposium will involve all the aspects of the kiwifruit industry, from breeding to consumption.

This symposium will be held in conjunction with the International Kiwifruit Organisation (IKO – 2017) 36th Annual Conference, which will take place in the same location on 10 to 12 September 2017. This will unite scientists, producers and traders from all over the world to exchange knowledge and discuss the main issues for the kiwifruit industry.

Porto is the second largest city in Portugal. It has many tourist attractions and is located in the core of the Portuguese and Spanish kiwifruit Iberian production.

We are sure that the Ninth International Symposium on Kiwifruit (KIWI-2017) will be a great scientific and social experience for all of you.
