Charles Sturt University
The APPN Node at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga provides field and protected environment phenotyping along with a unique rhizolysimeter for below and above ground research.
APPN's CSU Node is strategically located at AGRIPARK, complementing the unique breadth of facilities available in Wagga Wagga (NSW), from on-farm production to consumer and market analysis.
The Node provides academic researchers and commercial organisations with access to novel airborne and ground-based phenotyping systems that can be deployed to remote areas or used on site.
The Node's unique Rhyzolysimeter is comprised of enclosed soil cores with removable rain and shade cover, which can be accessed via a below-ground chamber. Soil traits (moisture, nutrients, pH, etc), soil biology and plant root structure can be assessed at a range depths to a maximum of 3m below the surface, whilst plant shoot performance can be phenotyped and correlated to root performace.
We look forward to discussing how our infrastructure and team of experts can help accelerate your research outputs.
