Mr Richard Dickmann is committed to advancing Australian agriculture through strengthening sustainable industry partnerships and creating new business opportunities which capitalise on innovation.
Richard obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Forest Science at the University of Melbourne and a Master of Science in Agriculture degree at the University of Sydney. He initially worked in state government agricultural extension in New South Wales and Victoria and the crop insurance industry. Richard then undertook a 30-year international career in agribusiness, which involved postings to France, Singapore, Japan, China, Germany and Australia. He gained broad experience in research prioritisation, marketing, global product management, product development and commercial operations. Returning to Australia in 2009, Richard led both the New Business Development and Public and Government Affairs roles and worked to identify new business opportunities combining the innovation power of Australian and international organizations. He also worked as a management consultant via his company, Apical Advisory Pty Ltd.
Richard is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Advisory Boards of the ARC Center of Excellence for Plant Success and the Latrobe Institute of Sustainable Agriculture. He was formerly a Director of the Grains Research and Development Corporation, Cotton Grower Services Pty Ltd and was a member of the Bayer Australia Ltd Board.
Based in Melbourne, he is married with four children.
